hi!! I got black tancho hair dye (powder) and mixed it with mahlabiya and water but when I came to draw with it, the paste spread out on the skin and didnt hold itself and after it dried it turned out green/brown!! what can this be from and what can I do to get it to be like Sudanese henna paste that is done with hair dye? Thamkyou!!

Hey :)

I never really used any other brand of hair dye besides Bigen no 59. Its the best and darkest color out there. Maybe using Bigen instead of Tancho hair dye would be a better start. Also, the way you mix it has a lot to do with how the paste comes out. you start out by having the powder in a cup or bowl (preferably a disposable one) and then you run lukewarm water in LITTLE BY LITTLE and mix, if the paste looks too thick to you add more water, and continue mixing. As far as putting ma7labiya in the mix, I dont really recommend it because people put TOO MUCH and the mix become half oily, half pasty, which may have caused the color to be a brownish greenish color (if it wasnt the dye itself). I do recommend for you to rub ma7labiya after the dye is completely dried up. It helps it become a dark rich color. Hope I helped!
